Despite the pandemic crisis Lusana maintains business level

In 2020, Lusana managed to maintain its level of business, despite the pandemic crisis all over the world. In 2021 it followed the trend and increased its range of action. This scenario takes place when forecasts of export growth in the order of 4,9% in 2021 are announced. However, the announced recovery will not be enough to face the fall in international trade generated by the pandemic crisis. According to the National Institute of Statistics (INE), in 2020, exports of goods dropped 10,2%. The fall in economic activity led, at the same time, to a drop in imports of goods in the order of 15,2%.

These falls in international trade in goods are the first since 2009, but are still below the percentage drops recorded during the global financial crisis. In 2009, exports — which at the time were nearly half the pre-pandemic figure — sank 18,4% and imports dropped 20%.
